Philanthropic Work in Central Oregon
Giving Back to Our Communities
Everyone who works at Home System Solutions moved to Central Oregon because we know it is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Oregon is a special and we understand it takes all of us to keep it special. That said, it is our goal, as a company, to give back as much as we can. Please read on to learn about the organizations and events we have participated in through the years. We hope we motivate you to also give back to our community.
This local non-profit is a key champion of independent film and offers education, recognition, and respect for film enthusiasts ages 5 and up. The annual Bend Film Festival connects our community with international filmmakers in an environment that honors the essential craft of filmmaking. Each year, BendFilm introduces new educational programs to nurture the art of filmmaking for future generations. Bend Film also owns the Tin Pan Theater, which showcases a variety of films year-round, and is used by community members for a variety of events.
Home System Solutions generously donated a complete technology upgrade to the Tin Pan Theater in 2022 including mind blowing Dolby Atmos technology with 13 custom Triad speakers, 4 custom Triad in floor subwoofers, 4 audio control high power amplifiers, a large 145” screen, and 4K laser projector from DPI. The $70,000 system upgrade is run by a network-based Control4 automation system, making the theater system hassle-free for community members hosting showings and/or other events at the Tin Pan. We invite you to see a movie or an event at the Tin Pan to experience the sweet theater!
Pine Mountain Sports Ambassador Program
Every year since 2016, Pine Mountain Sports has chosen a local social services organization to focus fundraising on. The goal is to support those who are serving our neighbors with real needs. Home System Solutions has been involved since the beginning, donating through the program to CASA of Central Oregon, Volunteers in Medicine – Clinic of the Cascades, Family Access Network, Cascade Youth & Family Center, Saving Grace of Central Oregon, Family Kitchen, and Furnish Hope. Since the introduction, we have been able to spread awareness of these important organizations and their needs to our clients and our friends and families. We’ve donated outside of these programs and will continue to going forward. We invite you to participate in Pine Mountain’s program!
Other Community Love
Through the years we’ve donated our time and money to a variety of organizations across Central Oregon (and into the McKenzie region as well). This includes being a main sponsor for COTA, Central Oregon Trail Alliance for many years, and Bend’s Big Fat Tour, an annual event that funded the mountain bike program at the Boys & Girls Club of Bend. We’ve donated our time at Meal of the Year and Taste of the Town, fundraisers for Central Oregon Community College Foundation, also for many years. We’ve donated silent auction items for many events, including fundraisers for the St. Charles Foundation. Lawrence has been a board member of Bend Film since 2015 and his wife holds the Recreation seat on the steering committee member of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project, working with the Deschutes National Forest to restore our forests after almost 100 years of mismanagement. After the Holiday Farm Fire in September 2020, both Lawrence and Melanie were very involved in supporting the community by running relief centers for those who lost their homes in the fire. We love our communities!
